About

I would like to welcome you and your child to my classroom.  This is my first year at Hillel Academy after 30 years in education, 17 of them at Northmont Schools.  Because I will be spending  Monday and  Tuesday with your child, I would like to tell you a little about myself, both personally and professionally.  I have been teaching for thirty years.  The first year was spent in Yuma, Arizona, and the next twelve were at Broadmoor Academy in Trotwood.  I attended Ball State University in Indiana, and received my masters degree from the University of Dayton.  School must be in my blood.  Both of my parents were elementary teachers, and my wife, Dianna, is also a teacher in Brookville.

We have three children.  Anitra age 26 is the manager at The Tile Shop, Leigha age 23 just graduated from UD and is an engineering site manager for Whiting Turner Construction in Atlanta, and Marcus age 17, is a senior at Brookville High School.  We also have a dog named Marley and a small flock of sheep. Check out our farm web site.  Dianna is also an author of children's books.  She had her first book published in 2007, called, "The Day Marcus Flew" and then published, "The Day Marcus Gota Dog".

This school year I hope you find that teaching is more to me than just a job, it is a calling - a commitment I take very seriously.  If you have any questions or concerns as the year goes on, please do not hesitate to contact me before 12:00 p.m. or at my home before 9:00 p.m.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year!
